The people behind the imaginary mishaps

A notebook.
A familiar hat.
A very unfamiliar fish.

Mara opens her notebook beside the river

Mara keeps the details.

She is the person who remembers the colour of the sky before the rain. Her notebook starts with a plan and usually finishes with something better.

Also appearing

Len keeps things interesting.

He knows the river well enough to forget that it can surprise him. He is generous with stories, economical with directions and rarely separated from his orange hat for long.

“The bird has excellent taste. I’ll give it that.”

The river gets a starring role.

Mevaxorin is a collection of original fiction set in an imagined Australian landscape. The oversized bass, the borrowed boot and every mishap belong to that made-up world.

We use expressive illustrations to tell the story around the fishing: friendship, patience and finding a memorable afternoon inside an ordinary plan.

There are no wagers, paid entries or prizes here, and no affiliation with a commercial game. The entire programme is freely available.
